Autumn

Unlike the long, hot summers, or the even longer cold winters, spring and autumn signify change. I think that's why I love those seasons so much. It's the act of shedding winter coats and feeling the warmth of sun on your arms, or donning thick sweaters for the first time in several months - those things make me excited that something different is about to happen.

Then there's the colors! Spring brings lovely green and purples and blues and pinks, while autumn's yellows and reds and oranges make it look warmer outdoors than it really is. The colors add to the excitement of impending change.

So for now I'm hoping that the trees hold onto the last of their colorful leaves before the long, cold winters of Michigan settle in.

Today I'm over at Not Dabbling in Normal, sharing a post about teaching children to play with their food and how to be responsible in the kitchen.

  2. I love the changing of the seasons as well! As we are experiencing our first snow fall and snow day today, it is very exciting! But I know as soon as Spring rolls around I will be ready for it!
